Alchemist Movement, redefined

VISION

Creating an equitable world through the pursuit of intersectional justice activism, education, and art.

MISSION

Using tenacious, sustained effort to rally individuals, organizations, and communities around the piece of the justice puzzle that most calls to them, or is most needed in their space. We do this by collaborating with organizations already filling those needs, and through the launch of our own programs for Northern Nevada. Additionally, we consult with those who may want to use our model to set up their own organizations and efforts in communities near and far.

MEET WADE

...the new President, and filling the role of “Leader” (more on that soon) of Alchemist Movement. Wade is a brilliant thinker, talented creator, and creative leader. We are honored and thrilled to hand the reigns of our movement over to him, and watch what unfolds.

Wade has a lot of groundbreaking ideas for programs we are going to launch, and will be doing a self-intro soon. Wade is also leading the creation of our non-profit, which will include a rotating format for President, so that the role is always being met with a fresh voice and a new BIPOC perspective.

Wade wants to hear your thoughts on where Reno needs the most work in terms of intersectional justice, as well as inclusive spirituality, so please hit us up with your thoughts if you’ve got them

"The change that I need, what we need, must be so convincing, so pervasive, so systemic that it changes the fabric of my being. It has to be, or else it's just another action. It has to be, or else it will fade away. I can't just do change, I must become change. My actions must be self-evident of who I am. And I've made up my mind. Instead of being the change I want to see, I've chosen to become the change. The true question to lasting change was never "what can I do?". It was, "who do I become?" -- Wade Gainer

A Black Healer's Message to the Spiritual Community

by Timothy Gay
Alchemist Movement Board Member, and healer with The Infinite Transition

A NOTE ON OUR RECENT OVERHAUL

As Alchemists, we are constantly in the process of transformation. In light of "recent" events, which are in fact ancient and not new, we have realized that we have been doing this wrong.

There can be no unity without equity. There can be no spiritual awakening without facing our darkest shadows and deepest wounds. There can be no Movement without the representation and leadership of BIPOC.

For the last 6 years, we have created a lot of waves in the spiritual community of Reno. While we have confronted many pieces of the human condition and stood up for social justice, we have not been strong allies in the active dismantling of white supremacy. To create a stronger, more lasting movement, we are burning down who and what we were, and creating something new.

We believe all organizations can take these same steps. We are going to begin documenting the steps we are taking, redefining our leadership as well as Alchemist Movement itself, and pushing the boundaries that will challenge who you are meant to become.
